“Snow Day” Film Kicks Off Nike’s #GetOutHere Winter Training Campaign
October 29, 2015
Snow days evoke memories of snowball fights, time off from school and the urge to get outside and play, no matter how harsh the weather. Just ask pro football players Rob Gronkowski and Ndamukong Suh, who each lead a team of world-class athletes in “Snow Day,” a new film from Nike Training. In the film, an overnight blizzard entices the athletes, from an array of sports, to face off and play a fun but ferociously competitive game of tackle football in the snow.
"Snow Day" kicks off Nike’s #GetOutHere campaign, which highlights key products (such as Nike Therma-Sphere Max and AeroReact), services and inspiration for athletes at every level who want to train and embrace winter weather. Additionally, for the first time, Nike.com allows consumers to filter product searches by specific weather conditions such as Freezing, Cold, Cool and Dark.
Pro athletes featured in the film include: Rob Gronkowski, Ndamukong Suh, Odell Beckham Jr., Le’Veon Bell, Eugenie Bouchard, Antonio Brown, Elena Delle Donne, Marlen Esparza, Paula Findlay, Lauren Fisher, Paul George, A.J. Green, Draymond Green, Luke Kuechly, Sydney Leroux, Carli Lloyd, Marcus Mariota, LeSean McCoy, Ben Roethlisberger, Eric Weddle and Steven Stamkos. In addition to the film, a behind-the-scenes video (below) features many of the cast reminiscing about their favorite snow day memories.
“Snow Day” will run October 29 on Nike digital channels and TV during Thursday Night Football, when the New England Patriots take on the Miami Dolphins. The film was created by Nike and Portland-based agency Wieden + Kennedy.
