Just as dusk began to fall on 30 May, the ultimate 10k women’s run WE OWN THE NIGHT started in the heart of Berlin. Participants ran from Jahn Stadium in Prenzlauer Berg across the urban streets of the city, encountering numerous surprises during the after-hours run.

The Race Village at Mauerpark created a great festival vibe and welcomed runners with a make-up corner, a photo station and a stylish Nike boutique – the perfect setting and ideal preparation for the run.

Event host Hadnet Tesfai cheered up the crowd, which included VIPs such as Joy Denalane and newcomer Elif, as well as Nike athlete Caterina Granz – all facing the spectacular 10k distance together. Illuminated streets and the pumping sounds of the Powersong Area motivated participants during the run and helped them to enjoy it to the very last second. Prior to the race, WE OWN THE NIGHT runners submitted their favourite song, which was connected to their start number with a chip. When runners arrived in the Powersong area, their requested song started playing.

" WE OWN THE NIGHT is simply unique! All the things offered along the route made it an experience that is hard to top – it made running really easy. For me as an athlete, it was especially great that this time it was not about personal bests but purely about the fun. The 10k just flew by,” says professional runner Caterina Granz.

At the finish line, all participating runners were delighted to receive a very special bonus: an exclusive Reward Necklace created by famous Berlin jewelry designer Sabrina Dehoff in collaboration with Nike. The fine, gold-plated anchor chain with punched stars and a pendant decorated with “We own the Night” lettering was created especially for WE OWN THE NIGHT and produced as a limited edition.

"I took part with my team. The 10k was quite a challenge but it was fun. Now I’m happy to see all the proud runners with our winner medals,“ says Sabrina Dehoff.

At the after-race concert, participants were able to jointly celebrate their unique running experience: Successful Berlin-based musician Miss Platnum created goose bumps and a lively party atmosphere with her diversified performance. "My girls were tough and full of energy after the 10k run. What a fantastic night, we owned it! "

Following, DJ duo SAM heralded the end of the evening.
