Redesigned Nike Store Shines in the Emerald City

“Sports are part of the heart and soul of Seattle. Whether they’re cheering for the local football, baseball or soccer teams, playing intramural sports or training for an upcoming race, Seattleites love their teams and are striving to reach their personal athletic goals,” explained Dennis van Oossanen, Vice President of Nike North America Direct to Consumer. “Nike Seattle was redesigned with this active and energetic community in mind, with the aim to deliver it our most innovative products and personalized services.”

Located on Sixth Avenue and Pike Street, the store incorporates unique design elements, including a custom neon sculpture celebrating sport icons and a number of the city's cultural symbols. Additionally, Seattle's 12th man – its fans – is honored with an art installation signed by Seattle Seahawks players. Visiting Nike athletes will be invited to add to the display.

Nike Seattle's retail offerings are similarly diverse. They highlight running and sportswear products for men and women, as well as Jordan and basketball shoes and apparel for men. The store also provides premium services, including run analysis, bra fitting, pant hemming and personal styling. Further, Nike Seattle allows for seamless in-store and purchases through a single mobile transaction.

To celebrate the opening of Nike Seattle, retired NFL quarterback and former Seattle Seahawk Warren Moon fielded questions from customers and local youth from the YMCA. Additional Nike athletes will make in-store appearances throughout opening weekend (July 31 - August 2).

Nike Seattle also introduces Home Run NRC on Thursdays at 6:30pm, an addendum to the existing Wednesday evening Nike+ Run Club at nearby Nike University Village. The first Home Run NRC, led by Nike Master Run Coach Blue Benadum and Nike track and field athlete Phoebe Wright, features a three- and five-mile route along Alki Beach, with water taxi service to and from the run.
