For NTC Master Trainer Leah Kim, yoga is more than a workout. It’s also a mindset.
“The mind and body connection is the pinnacle of any yoga practice, so it’s important to be aware of it and to practice strengthening it,” Kim says. “Without this awareness, yoga is devoid of its magic and limited in its efficacy and benefits.”
Beginning in May, Kim will demonstrate this connection in the Nike+ Training Club App with her new Solar Power Yoga Workout. The 15-minute studio workout consists of five drills that will lead users through a number of movements, including Sun Salutation and Dolphin Poses.
With Kim leading the way, users will work to build strength, as well as improve their flexibility and balance. The workout is suited for athletes with varying levels of yoga experience.
“To someone starting yoga for the first time, I would encourage focusing on what brought you to it in the first place," Kim says. “It was probably something along the lines of releasing tension, stretching out your body, calming the mind, and in general looking to feel more balanced and relaxed. It probably had nothing to do with creating more stress or being hard on yourself.”
Leah Kim’s Solar Power Yoga Workout will launch on the N+TC App May 2. Users will also be able to shop her training look, which includes the Nike Studio Wrap Pack 2, on Nike.com.
