Nike Unveils Steaua Bucharest Home Kit Ahead of Romanian Supercup Final

Steaua Bucharest next season will play in a sharp new home kit proudly boasting the club’s famous red and blue colours. Known as “Ros Albastrii” (The Red and Blues) the team' stays true to its roots with a jersey featuring bold red and blue stripes.

The shirt has a darker blue crossover V-neck collar and deep blue cuffs on the sleeves.

Inside the neck is a red-and-blue bonded label with the yellow star from the Steaua club crest.

The new home shorts are red with a thin blue stripe along each side, and the socks are red with a dark blue band at the top and a block in a more traditional Steaua blue on the back designed to boost visibility on the pitch.

The kit showcases Nike’s belief in style, craft and pride while aiding the performance of players with key technological features.

Recycled Polyester

  • The home kit continues to be made from Nike’s revolutionary recycled polyester, which reflects Nike’s commitment to producing athletic wear with a lower environmental impact.  The shirt and shorts of each kit are made from up to thirteen recycled plastic water bottles.

  • This pioneering process in which plastic bottles are melted down in to a yarn that is then spun in to recycled polyester reduces energy consumption by up to 30% compared to manufacturing polyester.

  • Since 2010, Nike has diverted over 1.1 billion  plastic bottles from landfills through our use of  recycled polyester.

Fabric and Nike Dri-Fit

  • The kit is made of fabric weighing just 145 grams, which is 23% lighter than previous Nike kits. It also boasts a 20% stronger knit structure and a significantly improved stretch.

  • The fabric is integrated with Nike Dri-Fit technology, which draws away sweat from the body to keep them cool, dry and focused on their game.

  • There are also updated and improved ventilation zones consisting of tiny laser-cut holes on both sides of the shirt and on the waistband of the shorts, as well as a mesh across the entire back of the shirt to allow more air inside the kit for additional comfort and cooling.

Fit and construction

  • This season the home kit also has a more athletic and dynamic fit after Nike embarked on an innovative programme of 3D body scanning some of the world’s leading footballers so as to produce a design more tailored to the contours of their bodies.

  • The kit has been brilliantly crafted with bonded T-bars at the junctions of the shirts to support the seams, and inner welded seams with a clean finish to give a more striking appearance while also increasing comfort and performance.
