As the N+TC Tour winds around the world and reaches one of the tour’s original cities - Los Angeles – Nike releases the next Tight of the Moment: a visual celebration of Southern Californian culture and a city that has long embraced women’s fitness.
“We wanted to capture the fusion of art, landscape and practical comfort in this tight,” says Jamie Lee, Nike Design Director for Women’s Training. “We blend the natural and organic with the hard lines of modernism to encapsulate the architecture, beach style and sunshine of LA.”
The limited-edition tights are an explosion of radiant lines and colors, inspired by LA’s modern architecture and the natural beauty of the area – beach sunsets and bright flora. The design team also engineered the energetic print to highlight the female body in motion. Using 3-D projection technology, designers considered how the tights would look on an active athlete as well as how the athlete would feel while exercising in the tights.
“Tights are a great canvas for expression," says Lee. "The dynamic print and color of this tight is designed to move and follow the body in motion."
The playful and modern LA print pairs with the high-performance attributes of the Nike Pro Tight. The tights’ Dri-FIT fabric is soft and form-fitting while effectively pulling moisture away from the skin. Along with ergonomic seams and a wide waistband, the base layer tight is designed to move with the body and supply lasting comfort during workout.
The 2015 N+TC Tour stops at 13 cities around the world this spring and summer, motivating, connecting and challenging women through training workouts, fitness rotations and inspiring moments of celebration. N+TC Tour connects to Nike's ongoing #betterforit journey that encourages women to go out there and put their fitness goals test by living an active lifestyle.
