Nike Reopens Santa Monica Store with New Focus on Women's Product and Digital Services

Nike reopened its brand experience store at Santa Monica Place on the Third Street Promenade with a renewed focus on women and Nike+ services. The two-story, 20,000-square-foot location reflects the brand’s latest multi-category store concept, featuring premium product alongside enhanced consumer services and experiences.

The updated store leads with an array of women’s product focused on running, training and sportswear, as well as young athletes’ performance product. Men’s running, training, basketball and sportswear, along with Jordan, Nike SB (skateboarding) and Hurley can be found on the second floor. Overall, the store design reflects a lighter and stronger aesthetic that maximizes the natural light in the space, ideal for the Southern California environment. An open atrium in the center of the store features a custom “Just Do It” art installation created using reclaimed gym floors. Elevated in-store services include Nike+ Run Analysis for men and women, bra fitting, pant hemming and personal shopping.

Visitors to Nike Santa Monica can join the Nike+ LA community of local athletes through the newly elevated Nike+ Run Club experience and Nike Training Club by signing up at nike.com/la. Athletes can also register for Nike Women Los Angeles, an epic running and training experience taking place April 24 and 25 led by local Nike trainers. Updated in March 2015, the Nike+ Run Club offers a variety of running and training options for every level of runner and merges the best of Nike+ Running and Nike+ Training Club digital services, live experiences, and expert coaching and pacers to improve athlete performance.

“We’ve served the Santa Monica community for the past five years and look forward to bringing Nike's digital and in-person services to consumers in the community to help them achieve their athletic potential,” said Dennis van Oossanen, Vice President of Nike North America Direct to Consumer. “Nike Santa Monica is a pinnacle expression of our commitment to inspire and serve athletes of all ages, while deepening our community engagement.”

Nike Santa Monica joins other women’s-led retail locations Nike has opened recently, including Union Street in San Francisco and the women’s-only Fashion Island store in Newport Beach, Calif. These stores, along with a women’s-only store in Shanghai’s IAPM Mall, reinforce Nike’s ongoing commitment to female athletes who run, train and live the look of sport and fitness throughout their day.
