Nike Football Creates Clean, Striking and Modern Look For Eintracht Frankfurt 2015-16 Home Kit
June 25, 2015
Eintracht Frankfurt propels its proud heritage into the future with new home kit for 2015-16.
Eintracht Frankfurt will take to the field this season in a distinctive new home kit. The club’s famous red and black stripes have evolved, with four slim red stripes on a black background now running horizontally down the shirt’s body and sleeves.
This daring reimagining of the famous Eintracht Frankfurt colors reflects the club’s forward-thinking ambition and honors its storied past, taking design cues from a 1970’s kit aesthetic.
The shirt features a modern V-neck collar with a red band at the back. There is also a red stripe along each of the shirt’s flanks, which continues along the sides of the otherwise all-black shorts.
The club’s initials, SGE (Sportgemeinde Eintracht) sit on the back of the neck – this translates as Sports Community Eintracht.
Entirely black socks with a tonal stripe of small chevrons on the back of the calf complete the home look.
The new Eintracht Frankfurt home kit will be available in stores starting July 15.
While this new kit represents a proud symbol of the club, it offers players the very latest in Nike performance innovation, fabric technology, moisture management and environmental sustainability.
NIKE DRI-FIT TECHNOLOGY
Nike Dri-FIT technology draws sweat away from the body to the exterior of the shirts and shorts where it quickly evaporates. This allows players to perform at their best by remaining cooler, drier and more comfortable.
The laser-cut ventilation holes and mesh panels in key areas of the kit are designed to improve performance by increasing air circulation to the players’ bodies and helping regulate their temperatures.
The jersey is crafted using a lightweight solid fabric on the sleeves and front combined with a full mesh back panel to increase airflow and facilitate enhanced movement.
Nike places sustainable innovation at the heart of its kits through the use of recycled polyester, delivering unrivalled performance and lower environmental impact.
Each piece of the kit – the shirt, shorts and socks – is constructed with recycled polyester, which is made from recycled plastic bottles that are melted down to produce fine yarn used to create the fabric. Each kit is made using an average of 18 recycled plastic bottles. Since 2010, Nike has diverted more than 2 billion plastic bottles from landfills into recycled polyester – enough to cover about 3,500 football pitches.
By using recycled polyester, Nike is also reducing the energy consumed in the manufacturing process by up to 30 percent compared to virgin polyester. For more information, visit nikebetterworld.com.
