The Nike+ Run Club Malaysia is driven by speed. In preparation for the upcoming We Run Kuala Lumpur 21k, set for Feb. 1, Nike offered an elevated training run for members of the Nike+ Run Club, as well as the 10,000 registered participants of the We Run Kuala Lumpur 21k.
Held at Sepang International Circuit, known as Malaysia’s “Home of Motorsports,” runners were challenged with various speed training sessions designed to increase their running speed and help them reach their personal best on race day.
The course has been known to test drivers’ speed, where the fastest recorded speed clocked over 300km per hour. During the training experience, runners took to the 5.5km racetrack that features 15 turns with a series of interval runs comprised of fast sprints in lengths from 400 to 100 meters.
To further show their speed, runners in their Nike Zoom Air Structure 18, raced against a luxury sports car for approximately 100 meters.
