Ferencvaros and Nike introduce new home club kit for 2013-14 season

This season Ferencvaros will play in a new home kit infused with both their traditional colours and the passion of their loyal fans.

The new home shirt proudly displays the Hungarian football club's famous green and white stripes in a classic design. The shirt also has a green crossover V-neck collar and deep green cuffs on the sleeves.

Inside the back of the neck is a green bonded woven label showing the three Es from the club crest to represent the holy trinity.

The new home shorts are green with a thin silicone stripe along each side, while the home socks are green with a white band at the top and a white block on the back designed to give players greater visual acuity on the pitch.

The back of the sock reads “Fradi,” one of the club’s nicknames, which is passionately chanted by their fans. The kit showcases Nike’s belief in style, craft and pride while aiding the performance of players with key technological features.

Recycled Polyester

  • The home kit continues to be made from Nike’s revolutionary recycled polyester, which reflects Nike’s commitment to producing athletic wear with a lower environmental impact.  The shirt and shorts of each kit are made from up to thirteen recycled plastic water bottles.

  • This pioneering process in which plastic bottles are melted down in to a yarn that is then spun in to recycled polyester reduces energy consumption by up to 30% compared to manufacturing polyester.

  • Since 2010, Nike has diverted over 1.1 billion  plastic bottles from landfills through our use of  recycled polyester.

Fabric and Nike Dri-Fit

  • The kit is made of fabric weighing just 145 grams, which is 23% lighter than previous Nike kits. It also boasts a 20% stronger knit structure and a significantly improved stretch.

  • The fabric is integrated with Nike Dri-Fit technology, which draws away sweat from the body to keep them cool, dry and focused on their game.

  • There are also updated and improved ventilation zones consisting of tiny laser-cut holes on both sides of the shirt and on the waistband of the shorts, as well as a mesh across the entire back of the shirt to allow more air inside the kit for additional comfort and cooling.

Fit and construction

  • This season the home kit also has a more athletic and dynamic fit after Nike embarked on an innovative programme of 3D body scanning some of the world’s leading footballers so as to produce a design more tailored to the contours of their bodies.

  • The kit has been brilliantly crafted with bonded T-bars at the junctions of the shirts to support the seams, and inner welded seams with a clean finish to give a more striking appearance while also increasing comfort and performance.
