Today CONVERSE Inc. announces the Converse One Star ’74 fragment design Collection – signaling the continuation of the creative partnership with fragment design, founded by Tokyo-based street culture icon, Hiroshi Fujiwara.

This collection features unique fragment design detailing, such as Hiroshi’s signature midsole branding and suggestive labelling. It is combined with modern construction details celebrating the first and original One Star sneaker, an early skateboarding classic from 1974.

The sneakers embody the timeless, premium and crafted ethos that Hiroshi Fujiwara represents. The re-crafted Converse One Star ’74 design utilizes premium hairy suede uppers, with an organic cotton Star logo and the iconic fragment design thunderbolt branding highlighted on the heel stay in volt green. They also feature drop-in Lunarlon sockliners for superior cushioning and come in two classic colorways: white and blue. This exceptional sneaker is part of Converse First String, a limited edition collection that celebrates craftsmanship, authenticity and collaboration at the highest level.

Hiroshi Fujiwara describes himself as a “cultural DJ” and is renowned worldwide as a symbol of sophisticated style, subtle design and impeccable cool. A prolific career has earned him the reputation of the Godfather of Harajuku – the Shibuya district he is widely credited as transforming through his extensive, pioneering work in youth lifestyle and streetwear. The Converse One Star ’74 fragment design Collection will be available at Converse stores, online at and at select retailers starting Friday, March 25, 2016. They will retail for a SRP of $ 100 USD.
