October 10, 2019 - Designed as a symbol of solidarity and shared identity, Nike will launch a Black History Month UK jersey in celebration of the most influential black British athletes. The jersey is being worn by the England senior men’s national team — including Raheem Sterling, Tammy Abraham, Marcus Rashford, Callum Wilson, Harry Kane, Jadon Sancho and Jordan Henderson — during the international camp this October and is available October 11 for Nike Members and October 15 on nike.com in the UK.
The jersey aligns with Nike’s belief that sport has the power to unite and that all athletes should be treated equally. This October, Nike celebrates black British athletes and their contribution to sport across an array of avenues that include providing pathways to success, celebrating the community through sport and integrating solidarity as a symbol through the Nike brand.
PROVIDING PATHWAYS TO SUCCESS
Nike is committed to creating the next generation of future leaders by investing in training for underserved minority youth in London, providing development opportunities and pathways to create positive change. Nike is partnering with Sported – one of the leading Sport for Development charities in the UK – over the next 12 months to mentor 12 entrepreneurial young Londoners who are inspiring and enabling the next generation to play more sport in their local communities. Visit www.sported.org.uk for more information on how to apply beginning October 15.
In addition to increasing equity in the community, Nike is working with the National Council for the Training of Journalists and PA Learning to elevate opportunity for women in sport by amplifying the visibility of women’s sports coverage in the UK. In tandem and through free courses, the three organizations are investing in the future generation of sports journalists by arming up-and-coming sports journalists with the skills and knowledge to better integrate the women’s sport conversation.
REACHING THE COMMUNITY THROUGH SPORT
Nike is working alongside its partners at Chelsea FC, Tottenham Hotspur, The FA, The Premier League and more to level the playing field for all black British athletes. This month, Nike is linking with Chelsea FC on an initiative delivered across more than 50 primary schools to pupils aged 5-11 to take part in a Black History Month poetry competition. Throughout October, Tottenham Hotspur is celebrating Black History Month as part of their commitment to promoting equality and diversity for all, in partnership with Nike.
A celebration of black British athletic performance and contribution to sport will be showcased through a photography exhibition at NikeTown London. A partnership with Black In The Day will invite the community to share their stories through the company’s 1948 space in Shoreditch.
July 13, 2021 - The 2021 FC Internazionale Milano home kit uses pixeled royal, navy blue and black to resemble snakeskin, forming the club’s familiar Nerazzurri stripes. The snakeskin pattern is an ode to the coiled grass snake, or Biscione, an important historical symbol for the city of Milan and for the club. The kit marks the first time in a decade that the club’s home kit references the serpent.
Debuted in April 2021, the club’s crest appears on the left chest, and, indirectly, beneath the Scudetto on the center chest. The kits are constructed with at least 95% recycled plastic bottles as part of Nike’s Move to Zero initiative.
The FC Internazionale Milano home kit releases July 13 on nike.com and store.inter.it and at Nike Corso Vittorio Emanuele and the Inter Store in Galleria Passerella. It releases July 15 to other global retailers.
July 05, 2021 - Atlético de Madrid’s 2021-22 home kit commemorates the 75th anniversary of the club’s current name, reimagining the first red and white kit design under Club Atlético de Madrid in 1947.
That historic 1947 kit featured a central white stripe that returns in this new design. The front of the shirt also features a huge letter “A” created by the central red stripes, another tribute to Atlético de Madrid. Navy blue shorts combined with blue and white striped socks complete the look. The new kits that players will wear on the pitch as well as the replica jerseys for the fans are constructed with 100% recycled polyester fabric, made from recycled plastic bottles.
The 21/22 Atletico Madrid home kit will be available to Nike Members from nike.com and Atletico Madrid retail channels from July 5 and on full retail from July 12.
June 15, 2021 - FC Barcelona's 2021-22 home kit brings a fresh perspective to Blaugrana identity, featuring a design with a reimagined stripe layout and material made of 100 percent recycled polyester fabric.
The club shorts are half blue and half garnet and pair with matching striped socks. Pale ivory accents are incorporated into the Swoosh and the kit's lettering. The back of the neck is inspired by the club's Senyera heritage, modified from red stripes over a yellow base.
Says midfielder Frenkie De Jong of the new kit, “The fans have taken me as their own since I joined and it's amazing to see a jersey which captures the identity and values of such a wonderful club.”
The FC Barcelona 2021-22 home kit will be available to Nike Members June 16 and a full release follows June 21.
May 24, 2021 - In 1921, Tottenham Hotspur debuted the cockerel crest on their shirts. A century later, the Club is celebrating the now world-famous bird with a new 2021-22 home kit that gives a subtle, elegant tribute to the heritage crest.
As much as the jersey honors the past, it also serves the future: The kit that players will wear on the pitch and the replica jerseys for fans are constructed with 100 percent recycled polyester fabric, which is made from recycled plastic bottles. Since 2010, Nike has been using recycled polyester to produce football kits. Each year, Nike diverts one billion plastic bottles from landfills and waterways by creating and designing with recycled polyester.
The jersey has a clean, all-white aesthetic and the side tape has an embossed cockerel crest, creatively distorted in a repeat pattern. The kit is completed with navy blue shorts and socks featuring a white Swoosh.
The 2021-22 Tottenham Hotspur home kit will be available at nike.com May 24.
May 20, 2021 - The Liverpool FC 2021-22 home kit is drawn from the club’s 1964 debut of its flooded red kit, borne out of belief that the deluge gave the team a psychological edge over its opponents.
Channeling the mythological sense of power and danger later described about that memorable Anfield debut, the full red kit is complemented by a glow of bright crimson, paired alongside bolted pinstripes. The kit is rounded out by green neck tape, a fossil-palette Swoosh and crest, bright crimson sleeve cuffs and a stripe down the sock.
The new kit that players will wear on the pitch and the replica jerseys for the fans are constructed with 100 percent recycled polyester fabric, which is made from recycled plastic bottles.
“It’s great to see the perfect blend of our heritage and Nike’s product innovation for our new home kit,” says Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk. “Being part of the Swoosh family for years, they’ve been at the forefront of sustainable design and it goes a long way into making our sport a greener one.”
The Liverpool FC 2021-22 home kit will be worn for the first time against Crystal Palace May 23. It will be available to Nike Members May 20 and a full release will follow June 3.
May 13, 2021 - Chelsea’s 2021-22 home kit, made with 100 percent recycled polyester fabric, is inspired by the abstract, kaleidoscopic designs of optical art.
The season’s kit features a bright, vibrant blue with hints of yellow cutting down the sidetape and Swoosh. The print continues onto the shorts, and the socks include a sleek yellow and blue trim. A yellow “CFC” is knitted into the back neck.
“This jersey is the most eye-catching yet and is so unique from the others I’ve worn,” says Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount. “I think it’ll be a big hit with Blues across the globe.”
Since 2010, Nike has been using recycled polyester to produce football kits. Each year, Nike diverts one billion plastic bottles from landfills and waterways by creating and designing with recycled polyester.
“I feel like the kit really represents this younger generation rising up the ranks and I love the sustainability behind it,” says Mount.
The 2021-22 Chelsea home kit will be worn for the first time by the men’s team May 15 followed by the women’s team May 16. It releases to Nike Members May 13 on nike.com and at retailers May 20.

April 07, 2021 - Following the launch of its new crest, FC Internazionale Milano releases its I M Collection, which includes the team's special-edition jersey, the first to feature the new identity. The collection's pieces are brought together by a blocked, geometrically-dazzling interpretation of the Nerazzurri stripes.
The special-edition jersey features a thorough arrangement of shapes down the body, from the bleach-like prints on the chest to the more understated use of stripes, circles and grids, divided through bold proportions for an unmistakable presence. Similarly, the club’s new crest leads the team identity forward through proportions, in which symmetry by way of a clean “IM” monogram offers an original yet familiar visual code for the Nerazzurri faithful.
The collection also includes a short-sleeve T-shirt detailed with a halved, blue-striped pattern over a white base, and a tracksuit and long pant, arriving in both men and women’s sizing.
The I M Collection from Nike and FC Internazionale Milano releases April 7 on nike.com and later on store.inter.it.
August 13, 2020 - Nike and Liverpool Football Club launched their partnership on August 1. The new home kit acknowledges the club's past. Liverpool's 2020-21 away kit introduces a visionary look that is a visual representation of club and city.
“We have very distinct design filters that are fully demonstrated in the collection we’ve created for Liverpool FC,” says Scott Munson, VP, Nike Football Apparel. “We set out to create a collection that celebrates the rich culture of the city of Liverpool and the club. The away kit allowed us to be bolder and more expressive in how we brought some of these cultural references to life, and we’ve landed on a look and aesthetic that really reflects that.”
Having introduced teal through subtle design references in the home jersey, the color explodes into a bold print on the 2020-21 away jersey — heavily influenced by the Liver Bird (the beacon of the city). The kit is also emphasized by the Shankly gates, which are brought to life through the swirling acanthus leaves that embellish the legendary You’ll Never Walk Alone motif.
“I’m a massive fan of the new away kit,” says Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson. “I really love the design and how it has been influenced by the city and specific aspects of the club. I can’t wait to get back out there and play in it next season.”
On the nape of the neck, and in memoriam of the 96 children, women and men who lost their lives more than three decades ago at Hillsborough in the worst disaster in British sporting history, a 96 emblem is encased by eternal flames.
The shorts are teal and have a black stripe down the side and the socks carry through the aesthetic of the jersey.
The 2020-21 Liverpool FC away kit is available now for Early Access at nike.com and at all retailers August 17. It is also available for pre-order in LFC retail stores and online at store.liverpoolfc.com.
July 31, 2020 - The new Atlético de Madrid 2020-21 away kit comes in head-to-toe blue with bright red detailing, and is inspired by the city’s Fountain of Neptune, one of the most iconic monuments in the city center where Atleti fans gather to celebrate the team’s victories. The bright, colorful details include gradient striping — unique to Atlético's new away — which is used to illuminate the collar, sides of the jersey and socks.
“This kit is really striking,” says midfielder Marcos Llorente. “The blue really grabs your attention and the red also jumps out. I like the subtle stripes and I think it will be very popular with the players and the supporters.”
The front of Atlético's blue away is lit up by a red Nike Swoosh, club crest and sponsor’s logo. The gradient striping surrounds the crew-neck collar and runs down the sides of the torso.
Blue shorts and socks complete the full look, with gradient striping stretching up the leg from the ankle. Inside the shirt, an inner-pride feature depicts a trident in a further reference to Neptune and to Atleti’s strong bond with the statue.
The 2020-21 Atlético de Madrid away kit is available through nike.com July 31.
