Jordan Brand's Latest Running Shoe Brings Responsive Cushioning and Stability

May 04, 2020 - With the Trunner Ultimate, the Jordan Brand presents a dynamic design for a range of cardio workouts.

Similar to previous Jordan Brand performance running footwear, the Trunner Ultimate supports speed-focused training emphasizing explosiveness and responsiveness (both crucial in game-deciding moments), as well as 5k to 15k conditioning runs.

The build of the Trunner Ultimate is compatible with the linear and lateral movements inherent to the workout routines of team sport athletes. A diamond-shape cage helps provide side-to-side stability, while responsive cushioning comes from a visible, full-length Air Zoom unit, along with an extra forefoot unit. Flight Fin technology, introduced with the Trunner NXT, creates a smooth heel-to-toe transition. A formfitting, one-piece mesh upper completes the shoe.

The Trunner Ultimate launches May 6. Additionally colorways will release from June 1.

May 02, 2020 - First unveiled during the 2019-20 media day, this LEBRON VII Media Day arrives in a purple and gold colorway and is rooted in unmistakable team heritage through alternating colors on the left and right shoe.

The LEBRON VII Media Day releases May 16 on nike.com and SNKRS.

Turn It Up with Nike’s First Indoor Cycling Shoe

May 01, 2020 - Designed specifically for indoor cycling and launching during a time when more workouts are performed inside, the Nike SuperRep Cycle is Nike’s first venture into indoor cycling footwear. The shoe brings stability and breathability on and off the bike.

To better address the needs of riders’ lateral and out-of-seat movements, a support arc on the shoe’s medial side helps keep feet secured during "Figure 8s" or other side-to-side combinations out of the saddle. The Nike SuperRep Cycle also solves for heavy, wet shoes during a hot and sweaty bike session, whether at-home or in the studio, by incorporating lightweight, translucid mesh on the upper, coupled with a perforated sockliner and vents through the bottom of the plate to enable better airflow around the toes.

The shoe is designed with a simplified closure system, making it easier to get on and off. Rubber studs and a textured toe plate provide traction while walking to and from the bike.

Working for caged or clipped-in riders (clips are compatible with major cleat systems), the shoe is versatile and visually stunning — this comes through in details of ghosted mesh on a vibrant neon orange and pink in the women's exclusive colorway. A classic black and white colorway is also available.

The Nike SuperRep Cycle is the newest release from the Nike SuperRep family — a suite of footwear including the Nike Air Zoom SuperRep (for high-intensity interval training workouts) and the Nike SuperRep Go (for self-guided exercise in a more contained space), which serve performance needs across a spectrum of training activities.

The Nike SuperRep Cycle releases in Europe May 1 on nike.com, followed by a Member release in North America May 26 and a global release June 1.

The Nike Air Deschutz Makes a 2020 Comeback

May 01, 2020 - When the Nike Air Deschutz entered the market in 1992 it had competitors in form but never in function. The performance-driven design ushered in the “cross-training sandal," equally at home hitting the trail, whether for a brisk hike or a short trail run, and strolling college campuses. In that, the sandal embodied the ACG ethos, and while many versions took a predominantly black base, its graphic accents further extended what became defining color schemes of the era.

The Nike ACG Air Deschutz returns in 2020 in ode to its original look. It’s still built to comfortably traverse a range of terrain, but also allows for subdued (or overt) style choices in its contemporary colorways.

Nike ACG Air Deschutz releases May 14 on SNKRS and at select retailers, followed by a European release later this spring on SNEAKERS and at select retailers.

Retro Futurism Serves as Inspo for New Air Max 2090 Colorways

April 29, 2020 - Earlier this year, the Nike Air Max 2090 took recognizable traits of the Air Max 90 into the future. This summer, three new colorways help extend the silhouette’s futuristic feel, each inspired from art work of the retro futurism movement.

The latest color inspiration for the Nike Air Max 2090 expands its theme of future modes of transportation through environment exploration: canyon-like earth tones, clean colors that resemble blue skies and bold brights of future cities at dusk.

The three new Nike Air Max 2090 looks drop May 7 at nike.com and the Nike App.

Slide into Summer with NSW Sandals

April 29, 2020 - In addition to the recent launch of the Nike Air Max Koko sandal for women, Nike introduces three new unisex sandals styles: the Nike Owaysis, Nike Canyon and Nike Asuna

Nike Owaysis
This sandal reinterprets the language of comfort from innovations like Nike React. The wavy upper and foam midsole provide a soft and cushioned feel around the whole foot.

Nike Canyon
Inspired by ’90s cross-training sandals, the Nike Canyon features versatile and steady cushioning. The sandal references the Air Footscape in the outsole and Nike Rift in the upper, which is defined by its soft, textured bindings.

Nike Asuna
Making a nod to the lacing system of the Nike Air More Money basketball shoe, the Asuna's unique styling is balanced by a soft footbed foam and rugged tread pattern.

The Nike Canyon and Nike Asuna sandals are available now, and Nike Owaysis will be available this spring at nike.com and on the Nike App.

This Footwear Pack Highlights Pregame Rituals from Luka Dončić, De'Aaron Fox and More

April 28, 2020 - How an athlete prepares to play is a matter of personal preference. Some famously toss chalk, others meticulously mark midsoles with motivational phrases. Point guard De'Aaron Fox of the Sacramento Kings, guard Ben Simmons of the Philadelphia 76ers, guard Luka Dončić of the Dallas Mavericks and center Brittney Griner of the Phoenix Mercury each have their rituals too. Their musts are highlighted in the new Pregame Pack, a collection of Nike and Jordan Brand silhouettes.

Air Jordan 1 Mid: Mindfulness (Luka Dončić)
A cool, tranquil palette of greens and violets characterizes the upper. Both heels feature the opaque phrases, "Breathe & Center" and "Center & Breathe."

The Air Jordan I Mid releases April 30 at House of Hoops by Foot Locker, footlocker.com and nike.com.

Nike Air Force 1: Music (De'Aaron Fox and Brittney Griner)
Outlined in Neptune Green, the Swoosh and the heel tab feature a lenticular design inspired by acoustic waveforms. An amplified design, using hotter reds and yellows, appears on the lateral forefoot and on the sockliner.

The Nike Air Force 1 releases May 14 at House of Hoops by Foot Locker and online at footlocker.com.

Nike Blazer Mid ’77: Motivation (Ben Simmons)
The suede, cracked-gray upper is the canvas for two graphics and phrases on the shoe's lateral side — "Heart in the Game" on one, and "Pride & Passion" on the other. "Dedication" and "Motivation" read on the back heel tabs.

The Nike Blazer Mid ’77 releases May 21 at House of Hoops by Foot Locker and online at footlocker.com.

April 27, 2020 - The Converse G4 revives the brand’s loud, late-’80s basketball aesthetic for the modern positionless player through a dynamic combo of Nike React foam in the heel and Nike Zoom Air in the forefoot.

The two technologies form a natural pairing for heel-to-toe transition. In the G4, the connection supports a cycle that absorbs, stores and transfers energy for movements on both ends of the court, and the responsive process is further supported by the reductive arch sculpting on the shoe’s outsole platform.

“The reload aspect comes from the Nike React foam technology in the heel, and the explosive component comes from the Nike Zoom in the forefoot," says Brandis Russell, VP of Converse Footwear. "When a player comes down on their heel, the shoe activates the stored energy, and allows him or her to propel forward, especially for relentless players like Draymond Green."

So, for example, as soon as a player like Green comes down with the rebound, there’s no hesitation—he’s already leading the fast break to make a play.

The upper, notably in the hi-top, is an extension of its cultural predecessor, the Converse ERX. The thicker collar padding at the ankle helps provide comfort, while giving the shoe its boot-like muscle.

The Converse G4 releases May 1 on converse.com

Two Silhouettes, Two Colorways, One Special Meaning for Russell Westbrook

April 21, 2020 - Two colorways from Russell Westbrook's signature line — the Jordan Westbrook One Take and the Jordan Why Not? Zer0.3—feature details that honor Westbrook's late best friend and teammate.

On the Why Not? Zer0.3, a KB3 patch appears on the shoe's lateral side, while the green and desert sand color scheme is loosely inspired by camouflage print, reflecting how the two friends were always ready to go to battle for each other.

The green is more vivid in the new Jordan Westbrook One Take through its volt upper, an unconventional variation on camouflage green. Thick, overt stitching appears over the textile material with synthetic overlays. Zoom Air cushioning under the ball of the foot is paired with aggressive traction in a two-section rubber outsole.

The Jordan Westbrook One Take releases globally in its volt green colorway later this summer. The Jordan Why Not? Zer0.3 colorway releases May 11. Both silhouettes will be available in grade-school sizing.
