February 09, 2018 - This special-edition Nike Metcon 4 comes in two complementary colorways to represent how dynamic duos can bring out the best in one another — specifically, workout partners who help each other push through the toughest training moments.
Functional fitness pros, Nike athletes and real-life power couple Lauren Fisher and Rasmus Andersen embody the strength and heart found in a perfect partnership. “Having a relationship with someone not only outside of the gym, but inside of the gym, means that we hold each other accountable and we make sure we stay on track with our goals,” said Fisher.
These training shoes reflect this accountability and interconnectedness through reverse mirror-image detailing (one shoe is black while the other is white, one has a solid Swoosh and the other has a transparent one and so on). Additionally, the purple and yellow accent colors on the heel and eyelets are exact opposites on the color wheel, meaning they perfectly complement each other.
The special-edition Nike Metcon 4 will be available in men’s (black) and women’s (white) sizes February 14 on nike.com and at select retailers.
November 15, 2018 - Harlem-born entertainer and athlete Sheck Wes is the inaugural curator of Nike’s new program, NYC Editions. The scheme celebrates New York City through partnerships with local creatives, allows the curators access to classic Nike silhouettes as a canvas for self-expression and relays homegrown stories.
With Wes, NYC Editions tips-off with a bicoastal flavor. He nods to his current life, split between NYC and LA, by finding commonality in a love for basketball.
Wes’s product assortment is highlighted by two footwear choices: An Air Max 95 and a Blazer Mid. Color schemes from both, which balance New York’s noteworthy orange and LA’s unmistakable purple, inform the Sheck Wes NYC Editions apparel. Within the mix are two T-shirts, a long sleeve T-shirt, hoodie, short and pant. All reflect Wes’s move from east to west, and capture a gritty graphic aesthetic.
Nike will celebrate the inaugural NYC Editions collection curated by Sheck Wes at Social Studies NYC. The footwear will be available November 16 at Nike stores and select retailers.

November 05, 2018 - Before a canvas sneaker stepped onto a basketball court and before the Chuck Taylor All Star became a globally recognized symbol of self-expression, Marquis Converse founded the Converse Rubber Shoe Company in 1908. Ten rubber galoshes, Converse’s first products, were produced on April 30, 1909. In the beginning, the company also created triple tread tires, leather duck hunting boots and hockey pucks.
During the World War II, Converse, like many American companies, shifted production efforts to supporting the troops. Its rubber origins contributed to the manufacturing of rubber boots, canvas training boots, weatherized gear and reversible camouflage ponchos.
The utility of these heritage items shaped the new Converse Mountain Club capsule. Specifically, Converse was inspired by the Extreme Cold Weather Boot, a rubber military boot developed in the 1950s and once produced by Converse.
Using this utility design lens, the new collection reinterprets three classic Converse styles — the Chuck Taylor All Star, One Star and Fastbreak — adding GORE-TEX® technology to make the shoes waterproof. The result: The Mountain Club line is at once stylish and functional.
Converse Mountain Club is available from Converse and at select retailers November 8.
