Nike SB Zoom Blazer Mid Lance Mountain

Lance Mountain first laid eyes on the Nike Blazer not in person, but in the pages of skateboard magazines. “In ’78, the Blazer started showing up a lot,” he recalls. “A lot of top pro guys at that time were wearing the Blazer.  That's how I first saw it. It was always on my radar — part of my youth. When I got on Nike, I went straight to that shoe.”

The Nike SB Zoom Blazer Mid Lance Mountain honors the legendary skater’s affinity for pool skating, as well as his fondness for a silhouette he lusted after in childhood and earned as a pro. The color scheme reflects a common conceit in Mountain’s skate graphics — ‘70s-era prism-fades on concert posters — and the tiles from Mountain’s favored skate environment, pools.

“Pool skating is the street skating of vert. Instantly in the ‘70s, pools were mimicked in skate parks. And so the level of skateboarding grew from a backyard pool to a skate park pool, and then over the years they have refined and gotten bigger and bigger,” explains Mountain. “I skate pools. That’s where I skate. In the last 10 years, I’ve rarely skated other things.”

Fittingly, the Nike SB Zoom Blazer Mid Lance Mountain’s graphic embellishments nod to the continuity of Mountain’s fanaticism for pools. The heel has a tile treatment, and within it features a tile-like debossing, with “78” referencing the year Mountain first remembers seeing the Blazer regularly in skate mags. The right shoe reads "17" to represent both the present day and a nod to the future.

It's available starting August 17 on Nike+ SNKRS, nike.com and at select retailers.

Nike Roshe G

The Nike Roshe, an iconic shoe known for its ultimate comfort and breathability, was first introduced in 2012. Six years later, the silhouette is retooled for the links.

The key feature making the Roshe G course-ready is a pressure-mapped outsole that targets high-wear areas, which gives the shoe increased durability and traction in key zones. It's also wearable off-course, which reinforces the comfort pedigree, along with the new design's long-range durability and versatility.

Sport-specific upper enhancements have also been made. For instance, the mesh is thoughtfully wrapped with a synthetic overlay integrated with the laces to give golfers a locked-down feel.

The Nike Roshe G is available February 1 in men’s, women’s and youth sizes on nike.com and at select retailers.
