August 16, 2018 - Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne are no strangers to fusing seemingly disparate elements of street and high fashion. Their brand, the award-winning Public School, is predicated on the energy of their hometown, New York City, and its style diversity. Born from this environment, the duo's interpretation of fashion includes recognizing a few tried-and true-standards, like Nike's 1982 classic, the Air Force One.

To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the AF1 last year, Chow and Osborne created an all-new high version of the shoe by deconstructing low, mid and high models and using the unaltered pattern parts to reconstruct their own vision of the icon. That shoe, the PSNY AF1, will launch in three colorways (black, white and grey) at PSNY's pop-up space on 3 Howard Street, New York, on September 4. A global release follows on September 5.

May 15, 2020 - The Nike Mercurial Superfly CR7 Safari celebrates the 10th anniversary of Cristiano Ronaldo’s first Player Edition boot, the Safari Print Mercurial Vapor Superfly II

Safari print, introduced on the 1987 Air Safari designed by Tinker Hatfield, debuted on performance football footwear with Ronaldo’s boot in November 2010. The look quickly became an on-pitch classic — its design employed in a unique way and overlaid with a tonal reflective and non-reflective chevron pattern that illuminated in certain light.

The Nike Mercurial Superfly CR7 Safari mirrors the Safari Print Mercurial Vapor Superfly II, but the new edition also incorporates CR7’s famous celebration stance, signature and logo on the sockliner. A special pigment on the Elite style distinctively highlights the chevron pattern of the Mercurial Superfly. A kids' edition of the boot keeps the traditional Safari color scheme of white, black and orange.

The Nike Mercurial Superfly CR7 Safari launches in China May 15 in kids' sizes. Helping celebrate Cristiano Ronaldo Jr.’s 10th birthday, the kids boot and limited quantities of the Nike Mercurial Superfly Elite FG CR7 Safari adult version release globally June 17, along with an exclusive kids apparel collection.

Nike Air Max 95 Greedy 2.0 Official Images

May 15, 2020 - Call it a retro reprise with a twist. The Nike Air Max Greedy 2.0 takes the principles of the 2015 original — mashing up classic colorways — and shifts the base from black to white. The Greedy 2.0's mix of iconic and niche makeups draw from versions initially released in 1995, 1998, 2003 and beyond. As the shoe arrives at the silhouette's 25th birthday, this breadth reminds of the Air Max 95's original impact, as well as its unbreakable stylistic validity.

The Greedy 2.0 releases this spring on nike.com and the Nike App.

Converse Renew Gets Colorful for Summer

May 13, 2020 - A year ago, Converse launched Renew to find solutions for post-consumer and post-industrial waste by using upcycled textiles and recycled cotton canvas blends. This summer’s colorful Renew capsule highlights Converse’s proprietary recycled cotton canvas process, using discarded cotton canvas scraps from the footwear manufacturing process to create new sneakers.

Created with a blend of 80% virgin cotton and 20% recycled cotton, the tri-panel execution on the Chuck 70 takes cues from earthy tones like prairie sand, branded melon, noble gray and mellow rose. A monotone egret variation uses an undyed yarn blend to form the fabric for the shoe’s canvas upper (It incorporates 30% egret and white recycled cotton canvas scraps with 30% recycled PET and 40% virgin cotton).

Presented in faded, color-blocked designs in Hi and Ox cuts, the Renew Tri-Panel Chuck 70 collection will be available May 15 on converse.com.

How to Get the Nike x Comme des Garçons Dunk Low

May 11, 2020 - Introduced in September during Comme des Garçons’ SS20 Women's Paris runway show, a duo of new Nike Dunks work together to augment the iconic silhouette's legacy in fashion.

Japan, and Tokyo specifically, plays an important role in establishing the Nike Dunk as an icon of the international urban cognoscenti. Energetic elements of city life — the club scene, graffiti, skateboarding, fashion — are embodied by adopters of the silhouette, many of them leaders of Tokyo's respective scenes. In the 35 years since the Dunk first debuted, Japan-led releases and collaborations have continually steered the Dunk story forward, while keeping the shoe in line with its balance of community authenticity and creative ingenuity.

Comme des Garçons’ latest Dunk collaboration, a spiritual follow-up to a clear Dunk Hi from 2017, exemplifies Rei Kawakubo’s drive to continually create new things. The unisex design, like its predecessor, presents the Dunk with a new materiality — this time taking Nexkin, familiar through its use in the Vaporfly SP and React Element 87, and toying with its inherent transparency. Both versions, a CDG all-over monogram print and a simple black, highlight the potential of layered color to give the flat Nexkin a novel sense of texture and dimensionality — an effect fitting of Kawakubo's overarching design ethos.

The Dunks, releasing in women’s sizes 5 to 14 and men’s sizes 3.5 to 12.5, launch exclusively through Comme des Garçons and Dover Street Market May 14. An additional release by Comme des Garçons’ partner wholesale accounts follows.

May 04, 2020 - The Converse x ROKIT Chuck 70 builds off the brands' debut collaboration in 2018 and examines Converse and ROKIT’s youthful mergers of basketball and skate culture. The All-Star logo is eclipsed in black fabric, sewn onto canvas that is divided into quarters through tonal stitching, blending figurative textures of asphalt and blacktop — a foundation likened to the streets of downtown Los Angeles, where ROKIT is based.

"The Chuck 70 is classic yet constantly evolving at the same time," says Bam Barcena, creative director and co-owner of ROKIT. "The idea of it originally being a basketball shoe and now being more of a cultural icon says a lot — and that magic of being able to exist in seemingly different spaces is very much in line with the spirit we capture with ROKIT."

The Converse x ROKIT Chuck 70 releases on converse.com and at select retailers in May.

Jordan Brand's Latest Running Shoe Brings Responsive Cushioning and Stability

May 04, 2020 - With the Trunner Ultimate, the Jordan Brand presents a dynamic design for a range of cardio workouts.

Similar to previous Jordan Brand performance running footwear, the Trunner Ultimate supports speed-focused training emphasizing explosiveness and responsiveness (both crucial in game-deciding moments), as well as 5k to 15k conditioning runs.

The build of the Trunner Ultimate is compatible with the linear and lateral movements inherent to the workout routines of team sport athletes. A diamond-shape cage helps provide side-to-side stability, while responsive cushioning comes from a visible, full-length Air Zoom unit, along with an extra forefoot unit. Flight Fin technology, introduced with the Trunner NXT, creates a smooth heel-to-toe transition. A formfitting, one-piece mesh upper completes the shoe.

The Trunner Ultimate launches May 6. Additionally colorways will release from June 1.

May 02, 2020 - First unveiled during the 2019-20 media day, this LEBRON VII Media Day arrives in a purple and gold colorway and is rooted in unmistakable team heritage through alternating colors on the left and right shoe.

The LEBRON VII Media Day releases May 16 on nike.com and SNKRS.

Turn It Up with Nike’s First Indoor Cycling Shoe

May 01, 2020 - Designed specifically for indoor cycling and launching during a time when more workouts are performed inside, the Nike SuperRep Cycle is Nike’s first venture into indoor cycling footwear. The shoe brings stability and breathability on and off the bike.

To better address the needs of riders’ lateral and out-of-seat movements, a support arc on the shoe’s medial side helps keep feet secured during "Figure 8s" or other side-to-side combinations out of the saddle. The Nike SuperRep Cycle also solves for heavy, wet shoes during a hot and sweaty bike session, whether at-home or in the studio, by incorporating lightweight, translucid mesh on the upper, coupled with a perforated sockliner and vents through the bottom of the plate to enable better airflow around the toes.

The shoe is designed with a simplified closure system, making it easier to get on and off. Rubber studs and a textured toe plate provide traction while walking to and from the bike.

Working for caged or clipped-in riders (clips are compatible with major cleat systems), the shoe is versatile and visually stunning — this comes through in details of ghosted mesh on a vibrant neon orange and pink in the women's exclusive colorway. A classic black and white colorway is also available.

The Nike SuperRep Cycle is the newest release from the Nike SuperRep family — a suite of footwear including the Nike Air Zoom SuperRep (for high-intensity interval training workouts) and the Nike SuperRep Go (for self-guided exercise in a more contained space), which serve performance needs across a spectrum of training activities.

The Nike SuperRep Cycle releases in Europe May 1 on nike.com, followed by a Member release in North America May 26 and a global release June 1.

The Nike Air Deschutz Makes a 2020 Comeback

May 01, 2020 - When the Nike Air Deschutz entered the market in 1992 it had competitors in form but never in function. The performance-driven design ushered in the “cross-training sandal," equally at home hitting the trail, whether for a brisk hike or a short trail run, and strolling college campuses. In that, the sandal embodied the ACG ethos, and while many versions took a predominantly black base, its graphic accents further extended what became defining color schemes of the era.

The Nike ACG Air Deschutz returns in 2020 in ode to its original look. It’s still built to comfortably traverse a range of terrain, but also allows for subdued (or overt) style choices in its contemporary colorways.

Nike ACG Air Deschutz releases May 14 on SNKRS and at select retailers, followed by a European release later this spring on SNEAKERS and at select retailers.
