November 21, 2018 - The Nike PG 2.5 x PlayStation, inspired by the color-matching of the original PS system, connects Paul George and his love for gaming at a time when he's found a new role for the pastime in his life — off-court restoration.
“Before, I played video games just because it was fun,” George says. “Now I do it because that’s how I relax. I need an exit from reality sometimes, to get away, to be in a different place and different moment.”
This PG 2.5 features a pattern of the iconic PlayStation symbols through the shoe’s counter and the heel. New to the 2.5 is the original gray of the first console and the classic four-color PlayStation logo on the left shoe — an alternate take on the PG2’s light-up tongue.
Paul George’s signature line shows an evolution of his gaming affinity. The sockliner of the PG1 included a video game rendering of George. In early 2018, George debuted the PG2 in a colorway inspired by the PS4's DualShock4 controller.
The Nike PG 2.5 x PlayStation will appear during his November 21 away game versus the Golden State Warriors. The shoe will release globally December 1 on the SNKRS app and at select retailers.
January 30, 2020 - maharishi's latest program with Nike by You celebrates the merger of technology and nature.
Using Nike’s tallest Air unit, which is constructed from 75 percent recycled material, the maharishi By You Air Max 720 carries a distinct custom camouflage inspired by leopard spots. “Camouflage, in truth, is an abstract rendition of nature,” says maharishi founder Hardy Blechman.
maharishi's abstraction of the leopard print is translated in a custom jacquard knit upper that comes in a choice of colors: leopard heat, leopard moss, leopard desert and leopard noble red. The depth of the camouflage is extended by a balance between the base surface of the fabric and the flocked yarns that sit about it. This creates a strong textural dimension, as well as a subtle shift of personality, depending on time of day.
Further customization comes in the form of a selection of maharishi “truisms” — “THE TRUTH IS ONE” or “WISE TYGERS” — which can embellish the Air unit.
The maharishi By You Air Max 720 can be customized now and will be available February 3 from nikebyyou.nike.com/maharishibyyou.
