June 25, 2019 - Sure, there’s glory in topping the podium in front of a packed stadium to be crowned the Fittest on Earth, but all of the work to get there takes place when no one’s watching.

Mat Fraser knows that better than perhaps anyone. His daily, often solo, training takes him to the “dark place” — physically and mentally. The gritty grind prepares him to step into the bright, public light of the competition floor, ready to destroy workouts in jaw-dropping fashion.

Fraser’s second PE is designed on the new Metcon 5. The darkness represents Fraser’s inward focus and meticulous dedication to his routine, while the lightness signifies him stepping into the spotlight for competition. The red racing stripe is a nod to the chase for first place as well as the shorts worn by the CrossFit Games leader. The three bullseyes on the medial heel and on the sockliner stand for the three consecutive first-place medals Fraser has earned at the CrossFit Games. Also on the sockliner is Fraser's mantra, “HWPO”  — hard work pays off. His signature appears on the transparent outsole.

The shoe comes in a box packed with tissue paper with the image of a bull’s skull (something Fraser uses to remind himself to strengthen his weaknesses) and the HWPO acronym.

The Nike Metcon 5 Mat Fraser PE will be available to NikePlus Members on June 25, and on June 28 on nike.com and at select retailers.

Nike SB Zoom Blazer Mid “Gnarhunters”

June 24, 2019 - The first collaboration between Nike SB and Elissa Steamer’s Gnarhunters includes a tumbled leather upper and a Swoosh comprised of the skate & surf brand’s “G.” The heel features a typographic interpretation of the Nike name in Gnarhunter-esque lettering.

“The Blazer is what I ride in," says Steamer. "I’ve always liked how thin the upper is and how flexible the sole is. The toe is in the right place — there’s nothing hitting my pinky toe weird. It's also rad to me that the shoe is being offered in unisex sizing."

The Nike SB Zoom Blazer Mid “Gnarhunters” releases June 29 on nike.com and at select retailers.

June 24, 2019 - Two silhouettes in the NikeCourt London 2019 collection are rocking the famous hot lava colorway in sleek, lightweight upper constructions.

The NikeCourt Vapor x TC Knit pays tribute to the tooling of the iconic tennis signature shoe. The circular-knit upper descends to a visible Max Air unit in the heel, while the Swoosh design is debossed in leather.

The NikeCourt Air Zoom Vapor x Knit is constructed of high-tensile strength yarns to support quick cuts and movements. A stretchy internal sleeve provides a sock-like fit.

The shoes release June 26 on nike.com and at select retailers.

June 22, 2019 - Designed for summer basketball, the Why Not Zer0.2 SE strips down the original Why Not Zer0.2 for a lighter, lower and faster take on Russell Westbrook’s second signature performance shoe.

Highlights include a deconstructed upper, removed outer layer on foxing that exposes the foam and offers light weight comfort, reduced weight on translucent midfoot saddle for foot security, Zoom Air unit for responsive cushioning and open-holed mesh for increased breathability. Additionally, the WNZ.2 SE builds on the look of the original by featuring external text, tags and branding.

The "City Tour" colorway of the Why Not Zer0.2 SE releases globally on jordan.com and at select retail on August 1.

How to Get the Nike Air Monarch IV PRM

June 10, 2019 - An all-over denim version of the Nike Air Monarch IV coincides with the 100th anniversary of the host course for golf's third major. Splashed across the heel is an embroidered flower pattern, and a vibrant flower pattern covers the sockliner. Both draw from the flora along the course’s Central California coastline.

Using denim as a rebellious play on traditional dress codes at golf links, the shoe includes a tongue tag modeling the leather patch found on the backs of most jeans. Hints of red dot the upper and carry through the heel, eyelets and heel tab, and round out in a leather-toned gum sole.

The Nike Air Monarch IV PRM releases June 10 on SNKRS in North America and Japan, and on nike.com throughout Europe, Greater China and Korea.

Nike and Jordan Brand Golf “No Denim Allowed” Pack

June 10, 2019 - The Nike and Jordan Brand Golf "No Denim Allowed" pack spans the Air Jordan XI Low Golf, the Nike Air Max 1 Golf, the Nike React Vapor 2, the Nike Roshe G, the Nike Tour Premiere and the Nike Air Zoom Victory Tour.

The denim uppers are a tongue-in-cheek rebuttal to traditional course dress codes. The site of this year’s third major is represented by a pattern drawn from Central California wildflowers on the plate and sockliner. Two symbols are used to stamp the shoes in time and place: a wave for the host course’s coastal environment and a centennial symbol marking the 100-year anniversary of the host course.

The Nike Golf “No Denim Allowed” pack releases June 10 on nike.com. The Air Jordan XI Low Golf releases June 14 on nike.com.

Matthew M. Williams on the Nike x MMW Free TR 3 SP

June 06, 2019 - With the Nike x MMW Free TR 3 SP, Alyx founder and creative director Matthew M. Williams extends the investigations in balancing technical processes with traditional craft that have characterized his collaborative efforts to date. The shoe follows themes introduced in the MMW Series 2 collection, creating conversation between interior and exterior spaces and finding opportunity for transformative elements that shape-shift depending on environment.

Specifically, Nike and Williams worked with outsole specialists Vibram to create a detachable crampon, extending the use of the traditional trainer. "This shoe embodies the multi-functionality of our modern urban existence," says Williams. "We are proud to have collaborated with Vibram on the detachable crampon rubber sole, which allows for the shoe to be used as a minimal trainer inside of a gym or as a resilient boot on city streets or park trails."

For women, the silhouette draws from the Nike Free TR Flyknit 3 and reworks the upper with molded overlays. The composition of the collar references the Nike Elite High Quarter Sock. The men's version of the shoe gives the Nike Free Train 3 a natural hand feel and incorporates track spike-inspired speed lacing. A medial zipper at the collar supports ease of entry.

The Nike x MMW Free TR 3 SP launches June 8 at the NikeLab Chicago Re-Creation Center c/o Virgil Abloh. A global release will follow June 27.
