August 30, 2019 - The LeBron James x John Elliott Icon QS originates from the collaborative partnership between James, Elliott and Nike. Tipped off by an exclusive LeBron Soldier X in 2016, and crystalized with a fully formed collection featuring the Icon QS in 2018, the three-part collaboration focuses attention on creating versatile pieces that work in a range of environments, from business meetings to travel. Featuring the midsole tooling of the LEBRON 8, the LeBron James x John Elliott Icon QS exemplifies the effort with muted colorways punctuated by translucent panels.
Following the release of the black version in May, white and fuchsia colorways of the Icon QS release September 13 via Elliott's channels and September 14 via Nike. The tan colorway of the Icon QS arrives October 9.
September 04, 2019 - Chicago-born Ibn Jasper wants to make sure today’s kids know Dr. J. That would be Julius Erving, the first basketball player to dunk from the foul line, known for his free-flowing play as well as for wearing Converse’s Pro Leather basketball shoe.
First released in 1976, the Pro Leather debuted as the lightest and most durable performance basketball shoe on the market. Highlighted by the star/chevron logo, the shoe was worn in collegiate and pro competition by many of the game’s best — though most notably by Erving — before being discontinued in 1983. Subsequent reissues have cemented the silhouette's stature in hoop-shoe canon, and given it standing in fashion and skate circles alike.
“This particular collaboration means a lot to me since I was born in the '70s and grew up in the '80s watching all of the great NBA players like Dr.J.,” says Jasper. “The aesthetic is based on a photo of Dr. J. walking into the arena with an all-white outfit. He looks like he just stepped off of the runway. I thought to myself: ‘How can I distill this image and vibe into a collection?’”
The statuesque white serves a secondary purpose too. Jasper’s intent is to channel Erving’s sophisticated style into a trophy that pays homage to the high-flying player’s individual legacy and broad impact on the game. Roman numeral embossing adds to this vibe, granting historical weight to a contemporary design accentuated by a zippered tongue.
The collection will release September 26.
August 26, 2019 - Jersey-born Ishod Wair has proudly worn versions of the Dunk Pro Low and the Blazer Chukka in his time with Nike SB. Now, he’ll add another personal note with a Nike SB Zoom Bruin as part of his own Orange Label capsule, the first from a Nike SB rider. Designed with Wair, the Orange Label Bruin splits durable mesh on the lateral side and breathable mesh on the medial side. The apparel offering inculdes a polyester jacket and pant and a mesh-fabric short.
The Nike SB Orange Label Ishod Wair collection launches August 31 in specialty skate shops.
August 26, 2019 - High speed is ingrained in Neymar Jr.’s playmaking DNA. He possesses an electric pace, seen in his quick dribbling skills, and dazzling sprints. His passion for velocity also spills over into his love for motorsports and racing. This affinity for speed on and off the pitch is the inspiration for Nike’s special-edition Neymar Jr. Mercurial Vapor Speed Freak.
Presenting an auto-racing design, nod to his speedy style of play, the boot carries a metallic silver upper and features a red and black checkered flag design from the underfoot up to the medial side. The heel area includes the legendary number 10 that he wears with the Brazilian national team, iconic Nike logos, as well as graphics from past boot models and some of Neymar Jr.’s personal mantras ("Sonho Dourado," "Alegria," "IV," "Shhh").
The boot will be available August 29 on nike.com.
August 23, 2019 - The origin of the latest Nike ISPA design has a simple foundation. While the Nike Air VaporMax Flyknit is comfortable (for all its lightweight, responsive reasons), the shoe suffers during the flash downpours of summer and the steady rain of fall. The solution — inventing a sophisticated removable shroud that swiftly transforms the Nike Air VaporMax Flyknit into a water-resistant gator boot — draws from all four elements of the ISPA design processes.
The inspiration comes from cycling spats, effectively scavenging an idea from bike commuters and adapting it to a sleeker form that protects the wearer from wet weather. If one improvises with the shroud, a number of rather cool, stylistic stances can also form.
The shroud and shoe are sold together, and the shroud can also be used with existing Nike Air VaporMax product.
The shoe releases in two colorways August 23.
August 22, 2019 - This Nike Air Force 1 conjures the nostalgic spontaneity of thumbing through a rack of indie magazines for creative inspiration. Off-register printing on the upper rests beneath transparent stitching on the Swoosh in both flash crimson and pink. The graphics on the upper, crossed by a gridded backdrop and loud typeface, bring to mind the creative transposition of taking ideas from the magazine rack and transferring them to the sketchbook. The shoe is part of a wider pack, so look for similar graphic hits on other colorways too.
The shoe releases globally September 1.
August 19, 2019 - As the pro golf season draws to a close in Atlanta, the Air Max 1 G Realtree® arrives in a camouflage upper, a black synthetic leather mudguard and vibrant orange detailing. The shoe releases August 22 on nike.com and at select retailers.
August 16, 2019 - The final hybrid silhouette of the season between tennis player Nick Kyrgios and basketball player Kyrie Irving, the NikeCourt Air Zoom Vapor X Kyrie 5, arrives in time for Flushing Meadows. This special version matches the purple and green color scheme of the New York City apparel collection. Graffiti-inspired details on the Swoosh and torn-poster graphics on the toe bumper are integrated on the upper in tribute to both the city and its basketball culture.
The Air Zoom Vapor X Kyrie 5 NYC launches globally August 26.
August 15, 2019 - Milwaukee folk punk band Violent Femmes has revived its fervent fandom since the group reunited in 2013. Among those fans is skateboarder Stefan Janoski, who’s releasing a special-edition shoe.
“Violent” and “Femmes” are separately chain-stitched on the lateral side of each shoe and the words from the group's hit 1994 song “I’m Nothing” — which Janoski sings with the band on a version that releases with their newest album — are printed in Janoski’s handwriting on the tongue.
The Nike SB Zoom Janoski “Violent Femmes” releases August 15 on nike.com and at select retailers.
August 15, 2019 - Evolving LeBron James' journey from Warrior to King, the latest LeBron 16 Low x Titan "Agimat" was inspired by Filipino folklore. Two new badges — a shield and a lightning bolt — are featured on the heels. The shield was inspired by the Bagobo tribe's traditional armor, while the lightning bolt symbolizes power.
The shoe is built to harness the athlete's power during play through a combined cushioning system that allows for impact absorption while providing a responsive energy return. A stretch collar and custom lacing also allows for ease of entry and security.
The Nike LeBron 16 Low x Titan "Agimat" will be available August 31 at Titan Stores, the Titan App, TITAN22.com and nike.com in Southeast Asia and North America.
