March 09, 2016 - The pattern on the new LeBron XIII young athletes' basketball shoe is inspired by the All-Star's favorite cereal.
January 08, 2019 - Converse and Don C's second head-to-toe capsule featuring '80s basketball silhouette the ERX 260 includes five executions of the shoe based on two ideas: animal and metal.
The Animal pack uses two classic leather colorways (black and white) as its base and accents each of the shoes with an animal print — a signature execution of Don C’s. Each sneaker comes with two lace sets that mirror the print on the heel overlays. In addition, the patterns and textures are extended through an accompanying four-piece apparel and accessories set.
The Metal pack offers three additional distinct ERX 260s in color palettes reminiscent of the convergence of '80s punk rock and pop genres. Each is embellished by an assortment of multi-size studs and is adorned with an oversize “CONS” logo print on the tongue, lighting bolt graphics and multiple lace options. Again, the shoes are complemented by a four-piece apparel and accessory set, this time set with glam metal era tones.
Each shoe is constructed with a renewed EVA midsole, while the upper and rubber cupsole mirror the original build.
The collection will be available January 12 on converse.com, Foot Locker and select retailers.
January 07, 2019 - Both born in Australia, point guard Kyrie Irving and tennis pro Nick Kyrgios share a love for their heritage and a high esteem for the other athlete. That premise inspired a collaborative project for this January, when Kyrgios will wear a KYRIE 5-inspired Vapor X in Melbourne. (Irving will wear a KYRIE 5 based on Kyrgios' Vapor on January 7 against the Nets.)
The low-cut tennis version features the KYRIE 5 Flytrap-inspired upper for a lockdown fit and a Vapor X outsole, which includes a heel Zoom Air unit and is reinforced in high-wear areas to sustain Kyrgios through hardcourt play.
The Nike Vapor X 'KYRIE 5' releases January 14.
The debut colorways, “8-bit” and “Pixel,” draw inspiration from the vibrant tones of the ’90s tech world, and feature a white-to-lime gradient midsole, a hyper pink-to-white outsole and a sapphire heel clip.
The Nike Epic React Flyknit 2 “8-bit,” featuring a gray upper, releases January 17 for members only, while the “Pixel” launches January 31 on nike.com, and at select Nike doors.
December 17, 2018 - Adorned with Swarovski® Crystals, this edition of the Air Max 97 Gold adds a distinct dazzle to an already shimmering icon. The upper is made with Swarovski's proprietary Crystal Fabric, which refracts light with a bright, shimmering effect as the shoe moves.
The Nike Air Max 97 LX releases December 26.
December 17, 2018 - The special-edition Nike Air Monarch IV Snow Day arrives with an all-white, full-grain leather upper embellished with a chrome silver Swoosh and iridescent outsole — the overall effect reminiscent of a glistening, snowy day.
The sherpa collar nods to warm slippers, and the sockliner frames an imprinted Swoosh on freshly-fallen snow. A pop of orange on the midsole symbolizes a snowman’s carrot nose. Plus, a snowman figure is hidden in the embroidery details on the heel.
The Nike Air Monarch IV Snow Day releases December 18 on SNKRS Japan. On December 20, it releases on nike.com and in select Nike stores in Greater China, Europe and Korea. On January 3, it will be available on SNKRS North America and at Nike NYC and Nike by Melrose.
December 11, 2018 - A four-female footwear collective, made up of a designer, engineer, developer and product manager, is responsible for the expressive new Nike Air Max Dia.
The design (which was completed on an accelerated timeline) of the women’s exclusive silhouette began by prioritizing the last, working diligently to achieve a tapered (but democratic) toe-box. The result was a shoe with beautiful proportion — a nod to both craft and utility.
A deconstructed translucent Nexkin upper (a vessel to show personality through sock choice), low collar and big lift combine to complete the modern look. The four dots on the heel represent the four disciplines that brought the shoe to life — a reminder of the power of collaboration.
The tooling is perhaps the shoe's true signature feature. The Dia's elegant stack height is derived from the team's established goal for the shoe: to highlight the Air unit in the biggest way possible.
With that wish came a ton of questions, including things like what the heel would have to look like, where it would affect the shoe’s design and how to make it look beautiful rather than bulky. It also called for more foam, resulting in more comfort.
Limited quantities of the Nike Air Max Dia will be available December 13 on the Nike App and at select retailers followed by a wider release January 25.
