November 07, 2019 - Continuing an ongoing collaboration, Converse and Undercover designer Jun Takahashi combine forces on a reinterpretation of the Chuck 70 silhouette featuring a graphic camo print trussed with laced zipper guards and metal ring accents — unexpected hardware details that capture raw-edged rebellion. The shoe also has an embroidered “NW” patch for “The New Warriors," which is printed on the toecap.
The Converse x Undercover collection (inclusive of High and Ox models) is available November 14 on converse.com and at select retailers.
September 26, 2019 - Converse is expanding its Renew Denim collection, introduced in August 2019, to create the Chuck 70 from pre-loved jeans. This latest installment dubbed Renew Tri Panel Denim uses three distinct upcycled denim washes — dark blue, light blue and black — to produce a fresh take on the original 1970s shoe.
Here’s how it works:
- UK-based sustainable fashion brand and vintage retailer Beyond Retro sorts more than a million pair of denim a month. The Converse Renew Tri Panel Denim selection is curated according to three distinct washes — dark blue, light blue and black — then the perfect pre-loved jeans are hand-selected to become part of the renewed collection.
- The three denim washes are butterfly-cut, then individual Chuck upper panels are die-cut out of each wash. Effectively, each denim wash becomes one puzzle piece in constructing the iconic Chuck upper. The dark wash creates the medial panel, the light wash goes to the Chuck 70 tongue and the black denim makes up the lateral panel.
- The result is a one-of-a-kind Converse Renew Denim Tri Panel Chuck 70 that’s ready for a new life.
The upcycled denim upper is lightweight and durable, while the shoe’s upper lining and laces are made from recycled polyester. The distinctive speckled rubber outsole provides added traction.
With premium materials, deliberate nuance and an extraordinary attention to detail, the shoe is at once familiar and new.
The Converse Renew Tri Panel Denim Chuck 70 releases on September 27 in China and October 3 in North America at converse.com.
September 26, 2019 - The history of the Air Max 90 follows a now familiar trajectory from performance product to streetwear staple. Designed by Tinker Hatfield and originally released as the Air Max 3 in 1990, the shoe became a cult classic following its reintroduction (and subsequent renaming) in the early 2000s.
In the ensuing decades, the Air Max 90 has taken many iterations along the path to footwear immortality, including coveted collaborations and clean, essential makeups. Part of the heritage is owed to an embrace in Europe, where the Air Max 90 has become synonymous with creative community across the continent and within Great Britain. The Nike BSMNT Air Max 90 City Pack is all about channeling that historic energy.
Three styles representing three cities — Glasgow, Manchester and London — have been informed by the Basement, a contemporary London-based collective connecting the city’s young creatives through inclusive online and offline platforms. Each distills its namesake's essential character and environment.
Paying tribute to this rebellious, joyous, forward-thinking community, continuously evolving and defying expectations, this Air Max 90 has a base of water-resistant, deep gray materials and heavyweight ripstop. The plush leather safety orange tongue and retro-reflective Swoosh and heel tab are inspired by the iconic traffic cone placed upon the head of the Duke Of Wellington statue in Glasgow's city center. The shoe releases October 5.
The second BSMNT Air Max 90 release drops on October 12 and captures Manchester’s fearlessness. The shoe is wrapped in two densities of hard-wearing and water-resistant Cordura. The jewel Swoosh is the first of its kind on an Air Max 90. The webbing and pull-tab system add a level of technical functionality. The quarter panel running around the shoe is made up of black 3M, which increases visibility while maintaining the shoe’s stealthy aesthetic.
The final iteration BSMNT Air Max 90 launches on October 19. The shoe takes inspiration from the ever-evolving city of London and its restless, creative power. Five tones of gray in an array of premium materials create a harmonious balance that simultaneously reflects the human and architectural diversity of the city. The raw, natural midsole is finished with a clear outsole. A transparent, velcro-edged Swoosh can be augmented by a choice of four detachable Swooshes — Yellow 3M, Dark Gray Corduroy, White Patent or Pearlescent.
Each shoe will be sold exclusively at select retailers in the city it represents and on the SNEAKRS app. A donation from the project will go to Youth Futures organization, which currently provides mentorship programming to young Londoners.

September 16, 2019 - Nike is partnering with the International Girl Crew (IGC), a global collective of six women across different creative fields, to design three Nike By You Air Max palettes — for the Air Max 90, Air Max 95 and Air Max 97 — inspired by the group’s worldwide travels. Colorway options range from the mossy greens and grays of the Scottish highlands to rich purples and greens from fruit stands in Mexico City to the sandy spheres made by bubbler crabs on the beaches in Koh Lipe, Thailand. Customization extends to unique materials and finishes with the choice of classic Nike branding or the IGC logo.

September 06, 2019 - Each of Skepta’s Nike SK trainers share an element of his personal story, from travel to Morocco to building a fan base in Paris — and the SK SHOX is no exception. It does, however, extend a more transcendental tone than the three prior Air Max-based releases.
The SK SHOX is about finding belief in boundless opportunity. In 2018, Skepta was bestowed a chieftainship in his parents' home state of Ogun in Nigeria. Nigerian chieftainships are given in recognition of a positive contribution to community wellbeing. “It made me realize that anybody could be a chief, but some people are brought up not thinking they can,” he says.
The shoe’s design extends this thought in the abstract. It incorporates elements of Skepta’s Nigerian heritage to share his familial respect. "I take pride in the fact that I know my surname, and I know where I’m from and both my parents are Nigerian," he says. "It was about bringing Nike to Nigeria and letting the kids know the energy."
That energy is also one that Skepta is keen to harness in this provocative shoe, to let everyone feel their dreams are within reach. The shoe becomes a conduit to share his point of view that the future is limitless.
"It is important to make people believe that they can feel royal — that if they work hard, their work will be recognized and appreciated and celebrated," he says.
Skepta's choice of the SHOX silhouette is rooted in a specific memory. “When I used to go to Manchester, all the kids were rocking SHOX. It was a real street shoe there. I liked their swag — the windbreakers and the SHOX," he remembers. "I thought ‘Yeah, let’s definitely do that,’ because I always remember those trips up north."
The Nike SK SHOX drop September 12 on SNEAKRS in Europe, SNKRS in Asia and Greater China, and at select retailers.
