October 15, 2020 - More than two years ago, at the start of her ongoing collaboration with Converse, Feng Chen Wang, like many designers before her, requested pairs of the Converse Chuck 70 to complete her SS19 Menswear presentation at New York Fashion Week.
Equipped with more than 30 pairs, Wang captured the global attention of the creative community when she presented her vision of the canvas sneaker: a carefully deconstructed and delicately reassembled Chuck 70 concept shoe, complete with hand-painted details. Wang continued to tinker her concept through shape, style and color, and a few weeks later, debuted fresh iterations during her show in Shanghai.
Shortly after the show, Converse and Wang began work to figure out how to formalize the bold concept and bring it to wider audiences. During the following year, after numerous rounds of construction, fit and colorway explorations, the team engineered a design and finalized a color palette that demonstrates the cohesion between Wang’s deconstructed ethos and the classic Converse silhouette.
The result is all about honoring the icon, but boldly breaking the structure.
The Chuck 70 2-in-1 unifies two alternate sizes of Chuck 70 to converge form and style in one approach. Not dissimilar to the exploration of layering often seen in Wang's eponymous brand and her recent Converse collaborations, the silhouette is crafted with “two” in mind: a paired organic canvas overlay, double-layered foxing tape and a modified outsole, spliced into four quadrants. This intentional design keenly demonstrates the duality of Wang’s idea while providing the wearer with enhanced “flex” in their step within the highly-structured build.
The sneakers also feature a double-lace loop for alternative styling, and Feng Chen Wang’s namesake logo appears on the heel, sockliner and laces.
The Converse x Feng Chen Wang Chuck 70 2-in-1 launches October 20 in black and persimmon orange color palettes.
November 18, 2019 - Since its first release in 2001, the cool Air Jordan XI has been one of the silhouette's most coveted colorways. It was spotted initially on the greens in 2015, and now the renowned colorway has an official debut in the Air Jordan XI Golf.
The shoe releases November 22 on nike.com and at select retailers.
November 18, 2019 - Converse has teamed up with PLEASURES, an LA-based brand known for irreverent graphics, to introduce a new side of the Converse Pro Leather. The collection emphasizes the silhouette as a vehicle for print, with black and white graphics protected by an outer transparent layer. Using Tyvek as the base layer, the graphics have a crinkled aesthetic that wears down over time, so each silhouette boasts its own unique, broken-in look.
“It’s a classic shoe and few have really tapped it creatively, so we’re excited to add the PLEASURES design aesthetic to the DNA of Converse, giving our fans their own version of the silhouette, while attracting some new ones along the way,” says Alex James, PLEASURES co-founder.
The Converse x PLEASURES Pro Leather will be available on converse.com and global retail partners November 22.

November 17, 2019 - For James Whitner, the common directive found on luxury clothing labels, “Hand Wash Cold,” is more than just an instruction for care. Whitner’s A Ma Maniére boutiques, in Atlanta, Houston and Washington, D.C., channel their namesake — which translates from French to "my way" — as ethos, a reminder to treat the things you care about with an unwavering respect. This materializes in the stores and the related community work and experience at each location, and also in the new Nike Air Force 1 A Ma Maniére “Hand Wash Cold.”
“The shoe tells a story of giving and giving back," says Whitner. “Everything luxury should be taken care of, and lives in communities are delicate.”
At A Ma Maniére there is emphasis on creating change in each location's adjacent community. For example, in D.C., where the boutique also houses a boutique hotel, support is granted to child homelessness causes. A restaurant highlights the Houston store, and the local beneficiary is a food bank. In each, Whitner wants to balance aspiration with action.
“What we do is all about youth culture and experiences," he says. "You always have to connect with the kids. If you aren't, you are not rooted in the culture."
The Nike Air Force 1 has been a constant in Whitner’s rotation, understood for its duality as both an aspirational product and streetwear staple.
“The AF1 was our choice of shoe before we found luxury. We have to put a luxury expression on it, but do it in a way that feels uniquely ours. I wanted the shoe to look like it fits next to the brands in A Ma Maniére, but still feels natural and true to Air Force 1,” says Whitner.
A suede wrap to the midsole, along with other high-touch accents, makes the AF1 A Ma Maniére, the experiences Whitner promotes balanced in the silhouette's democratic base and its symbolic veneering.
The AF1 A Ma Maniére releases in both high and low versions. Each respective pair is individually numbered (out of 5914 for the High and 5269 for the low), for, as Whitner notes, "transparency and collectablilty." Both high and low release December 7 at all A Ma Maniére locations and on SNKRS in North America.

November 14, 2019 - Converse's flagship performance basketball shoe, the All Star Pro BB, gets an energetic update inspired by Phoenix Suns' small forward Kelly Oubre, Jr.
Worn by Oubre November 14, the shoe's upper features an emblazoned flames graphic and is embellished by classic Converse branding — a contrasting black Star Chevron and All Star patch — on the medial side.
The Converse All Star Pro BB “Flames” is available in North America and will release November 15 in Europe.
November 14, 2019 - First worn on the NBA courts April 26, 1996, the Air Jordan XI Black/True Red-White signaled playoff seriousness. The colorway, the third for the silhouette, took a title and started a second three-peat. Fittingly, it will release again this year, and for the first time since 2012, to mark the 10th anniversary of Jordan Brand’s annual holiday celebration of the Jordan XI.
The shoe ranks high among Jordan grails. It has, like all the greats, transcended basketball. And as with all truly classic sneakers, it is coveted by athletes of all stripes.
Defensive end Cameron Jordan got his first pair of Jordan XI Black/True Red-White shortly after turning professional. “You have to have the stars perfectly align, to have perfect timing, to get a pair. November 14, 2019 - Nike’s iconic Swoosh logo, drafted in 1971 by graphic design student Carolyn Davidson, is arguably one of the most recognizable insignias in business history. A nod to the Greek Goddess of Victory, the logo’s winged design has taken various iterations over the years.
This diverse graphic design legacy is celebrated in a trio of new footwear packs, collected under “The Evolution of the Swoosh: Chapter 2,” releasing exclusively from Foot Locker, Inc. (Foot Locker, Kid's Foot Locker, Champs Sports, Eastbay, Footaction). Each carries a different articulation of the Swoosh across Flight 89, Air Max 1, Air Max Plus, Air Max 200, Air Force 1 and React 270 silhouettes.
Legend of Her Pack
Paying homage to the creator of the Swoosh logo, the Air Max and Air Max 200 in this pack employ an interlinking articulation of the Nike logo. Both shoes incorporate the messaging, “We named our shoes after a woman,” and are topped with a gold Nike Swoosh charm to the laces — an ode to Davidson’s gold Swoosh ring that Phil Knight gifted to her in 1983. The pack releases in North America November 21.

November 13, 2019 - Inspired by her love for DIY crafting and her style advice to be true to yourself, Mille Bobby Brown and Converse have teamed up again to bring to life three expressions of the classic Chuck Taylor and Chuck 70 silhouettes.
For the Chuck 70 silhouette, Brown chose bold color-blocking patterns in a pink palette; for the two Chucks, nuanced design features such as multi-colored eyelets and color-popped foxing tape. Most notable are the removable textile and chenille patches, embellished with Brown’s “Be You” and “Spread Love” mantras.
