No single connection between a shoe and a city is as strong as Los Angeles’ embrace of the Nike Cortez, originally released in 1972. That bond continues with the Nike LA Cortez, the latest Cortez collaboration between Nike and Nike athlete Maria Sharapova.
Combining her favorite sneaker with her favorite city — and the place she calls home — Sharapova, who has always had a strong eye for design and fashion, says she wanted to create a shoe that captured "LA’s high style." The color palette was inspired by LA’s laid-back vibes and the earthy hues of a West Coast sunrise. Playing off of Sharapova’s childhood interest in calligraphy, the shoe utilizes refined design lines for an off-court elegance. Thoughtful attention to craft and detail brings dimensional layering with premium suedes, leathers and soft gold accents.
"I love how it’s minimal and understated in certain ways, yet there’s so much attention to detail with the finishes, materials and even color," says Sharapova. "I was inspired by my morning walks along the coast on my way to practice, and I think we captured that peaceful essence in this shoe."
The Nike LA Cortez will launch March 1 at Nordstrom x Nike Sneaker Boutiques and on nordstrom.com, and March 2 on the SNKRS app, nike.com and at Nike The Grove and Nike Santa Monica.

Invictus (which means “unconquered” in Latin) is a gym known for accessible and exceptional functional fitness training for all levels, from the novice who hasn’t exercised in years to the professional athlete who competes around the world. Since 2015, Nike and Invictus have partnered to create a special colorway of every edition of the Nike Metcon to date.
The design details of the new Nike Metcon 4 Invictus embody the box’s ethos — particularly the shoe’s tongue, which features their mantra (the famous Invictus poem by William Ernest Henley) that speaks to the strong character needed to overcome obstacles. Additionally, the primarily white-with-green-accents colorway is a nod to the “sea of green” Invictus fans are known for creating in the stands with their fan gear and “V” graphics from the gym’s logo appear on the upper.
The Nike Metcon 4 Invictus will be available in limited quantities beginning February 22 on Invictus’ website and at Invictus locations in San Diego, California.

This special-edition Nike Metcon 4 comes in two complementary colorways to represent how dynamic duos can bring out the best in one another — specifically, workout partners who help each other push through the toughest training moments.
Functional fitness pros, Nike athletes and real-life power couple Lauren Fisher and Rasmus Andersen embody the strength and heart found in a perfect partnership. “Having a relationship with someone not only outside of the gym, but inside of the gym, means that we hold each other accountable and we make sure we stay on track with our goals,” said Fisher.
These training shoes reflect this accountability and interconnectedness through reverse mirror-image detailing (one shoe is black while the other is white, one has a solid Swoosh and the other has a transparent one and so on). Additionally, the purple and yellow accent colors on the heel and eyelets are exact opposites on the color wheel, meaning they perfectly complement each other.
The special-edition Nike Metcon 4 will be available in men’s (black) and women’s (white) sizes February 14 on nike.com and at select retailers.

In celebration of his new album, musician Justin Timberlake worked with Nike designer Tinker Hatfield on a limited-edition Air Jordan III JTH collection.
Using the original Air Jordan III sketch as its foundation, this colorway is the first of multiple editions to take inspiration from Timberlake’s recently released “Man of the Woods” album. Featuring a reflective Swoosh, the shoe is designed to add extra flare to Timberlake’s stage presence under the bright lights on Sunday night.
"I grew up idolizing Mike, and ever since we met, he and I have always had a great relationship," says Timberlake. "Working together with his team to make shoes that we love was always something we wanted to do. So when we had success with the ‘Legends,’ we knew we would have to find another great moment to do that again. This album and really this specific performance felt like the right - and even bigger and better - moment to collaborate."
A limited release was available on Nike SNKRS immediately following Timberlake's halftime performance. Look for more special-edition JTH Air Jordan IIIs to be available during select stops of Timberlake’s upcoming North America tour.

Keeping original elements of the shoe first introduced in 1988, including the tumbled white leather, gray elephant print and the Jumpman logo on the heel, the shoe adds a full-length Lunarlon midsole for comfort and stability on the links.
