Shelly-Ann Says

My nickname is...

Pocket Rocket and Grasshopper.

My good-luck charm is...

I don’t believe in luck. I look at myself in the mirror and do some self-talk to get fully prepared before I compete.

My pre-competition music is...

high-tempo music.

I’m inspired by...

my mother. She used to run in high school, but gave up her athletic dreams to raise my family.

In my bag...

I always have Nike gloves, my neck support for lifting weights, a notebook and pen.

On my day off...

I love to read, write and go to the movies.

If I wasn’t an athlete...

I would be taking care of children throughout Jamaica.

My favorite meal is...

curry chicken with rice, followed by ice cream.

I support...

the Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce Pocket Rocket Foundation and the PALS (Peace and Love in Society) organization. I am also a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador for Jamaica.

I want my legacy to be...

that I was the first person in history to win three gold medals at the Summer Games in the 100 meters.
