KD in Italy: Day 3, Rome
Starting off with an exclusive magazine shoot, Durant continued his journey of Rome as he surprised fans at Salita San Gregorio, an outdoor basketball court perched high atop Rome.
The day contimued with a trip to Rome's Colosseum, the largest ampitheatre of the Roman empire dating back nearly 2000 years. KD was in awe of the historic site.
Greeted by hundereds of excited fans in Rome's main commercial district, Durant spent time with a select group of local basketball players at Nike Store Rome as the day came to a close.
KD in Italy: Day 2, Milan and Rome
Kevin Durant's second day in Italy began in Milan at the secondary gym of the Lido di Milano, where the basketball star participated in a clinic with the premier Italian under 16 prospects assisted by coach Ettore Messina. Players had the chance to learn from Durant while asking questions afterwards.
Durant’s appreciation for elite sport continued as he visited the Formula One (F1) Grand Prix test in Monza, Italy. He received a personal tour of the Ferrari box, where the team prepared for the world-renowned race. There he got the chance to meet the Ferrari president, the team and the two drivers.
Later in the afternoon, Durant returned to Milan’s city center at the Space23 store, owned by former global football star Marco Materazzi. Greeted by many fans, Materazzi challenged KD to a game of 1-on-1.
Capping off the day, Durant traveled to Rome, to attend a special event with the Virtus Basket players at the Palazzetto dello Sport in front of hundreds of supporters thrilled by the chance to meet with Durant up close and personal.
KD in Italy: Day 1, Milan
As his European tour continued, Kevin Durant visited Italy's most famous radio station to wish the country good morning and invite basketball fans to meet up at the House of Hoops in the city center of Milan. Later, Durant surprised fans at the playground on Via Dezza, an iconic spot for the Milanese outdoor basketball scene.
Shortly after the court visit, fans welcomed Durant at Foot Locker's House of Hoops. Those who proved their skills on the playground won the chance to meet Durant and to ask him questions.
With Milan's recognition as an international fashion mecca, Durant then jumped at the chance to visit the Giorgio Armani atelier for a tailor-made suit.
The day came to an end at the historical Palazzo del Ghiaccio, where Durant played hoops, participating in drills and viewing 3-on-3 tournament, with Durant's brother Tony as serving as the deejay. The tournament winners received the NIKEiD KD VI from Durant.
On Saturday, Durant's journey continues in Rome.
