Introducing the Nike Free Haven 3.0

Designed with training functionality top-of-mind, the Nike Free Haven 3.0 delivers an intuitive fit with superior lockdown support and traction

The Nike Free Haven 3.0 men's training shoe combines a barefoot-like feel and supportive fit, with flexibility and superior traction. This shoe was designed specifically for training in mind, with support and cushioning for multi-directional training movement. The single-unit upper design allows the shoe to mimic the natural movement of the foot, while the seamless construction features an outer layer with perforations for flexibilility.

Dynamic Fit construction wraps the forefoot for a glove-like fit, while the sidewall wraps up to cradle the heel and midfoot to help keep the foot in place during diagonal movements.  While training, athletes require stability for quick and dynamic bursts of movement and the shoe’s construction is designed with these footwork movements in mind.

For training on a variety of surfaces including field turf, the track, concrete or hardwood, the traction of this shoe features a flexible, multidirectional grip. Solid rubber pods in the heel and perimeter of the forefoot are configured for added traction and durability.

Nike Free technology meets the needs of athletes worldwide with direct insight. After learning that Stanford athletes had been training barefoot on the university's golf course, three of Nike's most creative employees aimed to develop a shoe that felt natural and weightless, just like bare feet. In 2002, they examined a group of men and women with pressure measuring insoles taped to their feet, using high-speed cameras to capture images of each foot in motion. The team spent eight years studying the biomechanics of shoeless running. The results yielded a profound understanding of the foot's natural landing angle, pressure and toe position, allowing Nike designers to build an unconventional and flexible running shoe from the inside out. This sole technology began in running and has extended to other sports such as training.
