The track and field star will inspire 20,000 athletes at Israel's most popular running event.
Allyson Felix, one of the world’s most successful track and field athletes, will visit Tel Aviv, Israel from October 30 to November 1 to inspire the city’s running community and participate in the most popular running event in Israel: Nike Night Run Tel Aviv.
Representing the USA Track and Field team this summer, Felix completed in her most successful competition winning three gold medals in London for the 200 meter sprint, 4x100 meter relay and the 4x400 meter relay.
"I’m extremely excited about coming to Israel for the Nike Night Run," Felix said. "I hope I can inspire the runners of Tel Aviv to not only give their best, but to beat their best, just like I did this summer in London."
Tel Aviv runners will have an opportunity to meet Felix at the starting line of the much anticipated Nike Night Run on October 30. For the sixth year Nike will host the most social city race connecting 20,000 runners along the 10 kilometer course.
The theme of this year's race is "Set Your Goal and Beat It." Runners can identify a personal goal – such as completing the race for the first time or setting a personal best -- and use the Nike+ training program and event experience to achieve it.
The Nike Night Run is the 22nd of 34 races in Nike’s 2012 “We Run” race series designed to inspire, support and connect runners around the world. These events are forging a new global community of athletes who will participate in Nike’s most connected race series with innovative Nike+ technology.
The newly re-engineered Nike+ Running experience, which motivates runners with insightful and inspirational new features and products, has broadened access to the Nike+ community, now at approximately 7 million members. On-going run clubs offer training sessions with coaching tips, competitive challenges, and advice on everything runners need to get them to race day: product trials, gait analysis, and more.
