Mo Farah Takes on the London Track One Last Time

Tomorrow, British distance runner Mo Farah begins a final campaign for double gold. He’ll be racing the 10,000-meter and 5,000-meter events in front of thousands of fans on his home track one last time.

There is perhaps no better running inspiration than Farah, who galvanized a whole new generation of runners since he earned two gold medals in this same stadium in 2012. He’s won multiple Olympic, World and European Championships and he recently became the first athlete to win three long-distance doubles at successive World Championships and Olympic Games, securing his place in the history books by winning yet another double gold in Rio.

To celebrate Farah’s achievements and commemorate his homecoming, Nike customized the latest model of his favorite training shoe, the Nike Air Zoom Pegasus. “I have been running in the Pegasus for years, and it’s a shoe I can always rely on,” says Farah, who’s been known to log an average of 125 training miles a week. “The mixture of cushioning and responsiveness gives me a versatile option to run fast some days and far others.”

Though Farah said he will wind down his track career after this, he’s not done running. “I’m going to the road,” he says. “I’d like to see if I can improve my time and push it in the marathon.”

The Nike Air Zoom Pegasus 34 Mo Farah is available today on nike.com and at select retailers.
