Global launch ushers in new era for the iconic Converse Chuck Taylor All Star.
On Thursday, July 23, 2015, CONVERSE Inc. unveiled the groundbreaking Converse Chuck Taylor All Star II with a historic global launch in its hometown of Boston.
Guests gathered at the Cruiseport, a World War I era warehouse in South Boston, to witness a monumental moment – the unveiling of the Chuck Taylor All Star II. The launch presentation, led by Converse President and CEO Jim Calhoun, was delivered to more than 130 members of the media and special guests from around the world. Those in attendance received a first look at the innovative new sneaker – a contemporary addition to the Chuck Taylor family – designed to support the always-on creative lifestyle.
In addition to the live unveiling of the new Chuck II, Richard Copcutt, Vice President – General Manager of Converse All Star, gave guests an inside look at the unique consumer obsession that fueled the creation of the Chuck II, including the hours Converse spent living alongside artists and musicians. Converse Vice President – Creative Director of Global Footwear, Bryan Cioffi, helped the crowd get their hands (and feet) on the Chuck II, with a demonstration, and subsequent wear test, detailing the sneaker’s innovative new features including Nike Lunarlon technology and premium details.
Ready for more, the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star II is designed to meet the demands of the creative lifestyle and built for the next generation of self-expression. The Chuck Taylor All Star II combines durable new details including a Nike Lunarlon sockliner, nonslip padded tongue, super soft micro-suede lining and a premium canvas. While dialed-up details include the on-trend high foxing, monochrome matte eyelets, tonal pinstripes and statement embroidered All Star patch. The new Fall 2015 Converse Chuck Taylor All Star II sneaker makes its debut on Tuesday, July 28, for a suggested retail price of $70 USD (ox) and $75 USD (hi), at Converse retail stores, select retailers and online at Converse.com, in Black, White, Red and Blue.
